Leaves
02:46
|
|||
Up in the treehouse, breeze swinging low
I can see all the people, restless below
They move with such purpose, unlike me
I retired from life to live in the trees
The townsfolk below me continue to walk
Never dream I’m above, hearing their talk
Stay hidden from sight, it’s easier you see
The world is so simple, up in the trees
Reality passes me by, but that’s just fine
A quiet observer of others’ lives
My home is in the trees,
and all that changes, are the leaves
I left the pavements so long ago
With a powerful longing not to know
It’s only from a distance that it all makes sense
I stretch to the sky, but feel so low
Reality passes me by, but that’s just fine
A quiet observer of others’ lives
My home is in the trees,
and all that changes, are the leaves

Into Winter
03:23
|
|||
We watched autumn fall to floor,
Tempting your eye for more.
How many leaves would you burn for gold,
weighing down pockets that you’ve already sold?
We watched the frostbite creep down the open gorge
Where only the bitterest heather can be forged,
How can good, prosper and grow,
Through weathered cracks, upon baron stone?
When the days are dark and the nights are long
And the old cannot go on
Metal will not keep you warm,
When all you’ve loved is gone.
‘Til shelter crumbles from winds that blow,
‘Til the sleet eats at flesh and bone
'Til the birds no longer call,
And all that echoes is rumbling stone.
When the days are dark and the nights are long
And the dead block out the sun
Only then will you want for
All that is gone.

Curtain of Rain
05:06
|
|||
Yesterday we changed,
Tomorrow will fade the clouds away
But for now all I can see is your face,
Fallen from grace.
In my mind I was younger,
To the world I surrendered
Now I see you,
Through a curtain of rain.
Baby I didn’t mean to wash it away but,
You made everything grey.
All that remains of us now
Are forgotten names and places
All that’s left to feel,
Are our cold, cold cold, cold, feet.
And I see you,
through a curtain of rain.
honey I didn’t mean to wash it away but
you made everything grey
Tears like rain
Growing colder,
I grow older,
but still I cannot see…. (I can’t see)
….You.
It was never the same,
Baby I didn’t mean to wash it away but,
You made everything grey.
